Sisters Network Inc. Chicago Inc. was founded in January 2000 by two breast cancer survivors, Beverly Gavin and Gwen Wesley who saw an urgent need to unite with other survivors, communities and healthcare professionals in the fight again breast cancer. Their mission was to provide a strong support base, become involved in our communities through advocacy and educational outreach programs and educate women and our communities about the early detection of breast cancer.
I am saddened to report the death of our beloved President, Beverly Gavin.
Beverly answered her call on Friday, April 5, 2013. Her family and friends was by her side. Her transition from this life into God’s hands was peaceful.
The funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Lights of Zion MB Bible Church (11636 South Halsted in Chicago). The wake will begin at 10am. The funeral services will begin at 11am. Repast at the church following the burial. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12th from 6pm to 9pm. If you attend the visitation, you will be able to express to the family your fond memories and thoughts of Beverly. The family will wear pink and black for the services. The family is asking all members to wear pink and black also if possible.
Continue to pray for our president family. We pray that God will give them strength and courage in their time of bereavement. Peace and blessings upon you and your family.
