"Our Annual Community Event for Chicago"
Every year, the women of the Sisters Network Chicago Chapter get together and put on the Gift of Life Block Walk - a national Sisters Network project designed to present important information about breast cancer, early screening and self-testing. Chicago continues the tradition by putting on its 2nd largest event of the year. More than 100 members, supporters, sponsors and friends make the annual trek to disseminate information and seeking community involvement. This year, the Sisters leave the traditional Roseland neighborhood to head to the South Shore area of town with the South Shore hospital being the focal point of this year's walk.
But the Gift of Life Block Walk is more than just a walk. With health screenings, exhibits, demonstrations, music, snack foods and fun - this annual project brings the community together in an effort to get the word out to as many people as possible.
Registration begins at 9am at the South Shore Hospital (8012 Crandon , Chicago, IL 60617).
The walk begins at the South Shore Hospital at 10am and concludes at 11am. After the walkers return to the Hospital, the health fair begins from 11am until 2pm.
